Through a facilitated discussion, we will explore how Brooks Composite High School. This proposal explores an approach to foster digital citizenry in senior high students through student voice, choice and agency in the creation of a school MakerSpace. The proposal includes a review of school context, a review of literature on digital citizenship and an action plan that includes benefits and challenges of the plan. Good citizens, whether in digital environments or face to face, work to use technology appropriately to better society as a whole. In order to be excellent (digital) citizens, students need to be provided opportunities to build citizenship capacity. Students cannot simply be taught how to be good citizens, they require active and authentic opportunity to engage in digital citizenship in order to build their skills.
