Description
Target Audience: (Gr. K-3 Teachers) Since the recent surge and push for 'coding' in the classroom, many teachers are stumped as to how to incorporate into an already packed program. Coding and pathway games offers many connections throughout curriculum beyond just spatial reasoning. This session will look at the basics of pathway games and ‘coding’ tools and offer ideas and resources on how to assess math thinking through primary math curriculum lens (grades K-3). We will have an opportunity to experiment with both tech-based tools as well as unplugged pathway challenges that can help students build their understanding of computational thinking as well as use of spatial language.
