How can we introduce coding to our youngest students and why bother? Our session will explore this topic along with presenting evidence to support the use of coding in Division 1 classrooms and ways that coding can be integrated within the curriculum. A large portion of this session will focus on the use of Scratch Jr, an exciting new tool geared towards young learners. Please bring an iPad with Scratch Jr. downloaded to it as you will have a chance to explore this exciting app as well as other coding devices! Our hope is that you will walk away with ideas that you can integrate into your classroom right away.
