In this session Dave will provide an overview of the aims, successes and lessons learnt to date from the implementation of a Coding curriculum with grade 5 classes. Participants will gain an insight into how, using accessible tools and with a minimum of additional support, teachers across the spectrum of tech expertise can develop a rich, engaging learning experience that incorporates project-based and inquiry learning, personalization, digital literacy, computational thinking, coding and so much more! During the hands-on activity participants will programme and fly a Parrot Drone using Apple’s Swift Playgrounds programming tool. BYO iPad with Swift Playgrounds and the Parrot Education Subscription loaded (both free). A limited number of loaner iPads will be available.
