Name
DigCit Smarts: How to Talk About Digital Citizenship When You Don’t Have All the Answers
Date & Time
Friday, March 23, 2018, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Description
Digital citizenship is about more than safety. It’s about being smart. We as adults never officially learned how to “do social media,” (or even the internet, in some of our cases). Because of this, we have no idea what the right answers are for talking to kids about it, so oftentimes we just don’t talk about it outside of punishment. This session will address ways to have conversations with kids about how they use the web rather than preaching to them. We’ll also help identify ways kids (and adults) can model and create a positive digital footprint in a safe way.
