Speaker Bio
A native of Richmond, Virginia, my career pathway in education has included time spent both inside and outside of classrooms, first as an education and workforce policy analyst for the Office of the Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade and later as a reading tutor for first grade students at Global Scholars Academy in Durham, North Carolina. I later served as an assistant Kindergarten teacher at Charlotte Country Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. I currently teach 4th grade Social Studies at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas. I received my undergraduate degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs from Miami University (Ohio) and am finishing my MAT degree this spring from the University of Central Arkansas. In addition to my teaching responsibilities at Episcopal Collegiate, I help coordinate our lower school community service efforts while also serving as a coach for a kids marathon training program. I am excited to share some strategies for using Google Slides and Peardeck to enhance interactive learning opportunities for students in the lower grades.
