Name
Technology for Increased Engagement: A Unit Planning Approach for Any Content Area
Date & Time
Sunday, April 29, 2018, 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Description
“If engagement is to become widespread, designing engaging work must become the central task of teachers” (Phillip Schlechty). Participants in this session will review the Schlechty Center’s 10 Design Qualities of Engaging Work, then use a unit planning template to design technology-based work that adheres to those qualities and maximizes student engagement. You will select from an array of tech tools (video, website, interactive timeline, blog, etc) to design authentic work with a product focus that is shared with an audience beyond the teacher. This is a great opportunity to redesign an upcoming unit to increase student engagement, with technical and instructional support.
