Jacque is an education consultant for Cognition Education in the area of Innovative Learning and Digital Fluency. She is working with many schools, both with new and existing learning spaces, who are utilising digital technologies to enable learner agency for students and to grow leaders and teachers capabilities in leading learning in new ways. Jacque was a facilitator for the Te Toi Tupu national contract, in this role she worked with leaders and teachers in the area of learning with digital technologies in primary and secondary schools for many years to enable change in teaching practice. Jacque has facilitated multiple workshops for educators and presented many times both nationally and internationally throughout the last twenty years as part of her different roles as a leader, advisor, consultant and facilitator.
Jacque’s background in digital technologies spans just on twenty years. Her roles have varied from teaching, leading and facilitating, to management of information systems. Her experience also includes learning design, development and implementation of online learning environments. These roles have been within the education sector as well as government based and in the private sectors. Jacque has worked in a range of school settings as well as in a range online environments across many industries. These online environments have been both static and dynamic depending on the brief. Some examples include university based learning management systems, health and safety training products, retail and production operation, as well as information systems management compliance, insurance under righting and nationwide education police officer training and professional development.
Jacque’s experience in teaching at both primary and secondary levels enables her to work across all curriculum areas and at all year levels. She is passionate about the change management involved in innovative learning pedagogy and practice, utilising innovative learning spaces to capitalise on the advances in pedagogy across New Zealand and around the world. Jacque provides a co-constructivist approach, enabling leaders and teachers to develop strategies for learner agency, collaborative teaching practice, strategizing and implementing learning with digital technologies and transforming learning spaces.
Jacque is a founding member and currently the chair-elect for Learning Environments New Zealand and is a member of the Regional Council for Learning Environments Australasia, also she is a co-convener for the 2020 Learning Environments Australasia Conference (CHCH). She is a member of the Education Reference Group for MOTAT as the digital learning advisor and is a Board of Trustee Elected Member for one of the largest primary schools in New Zealand.
