Able to sense acceleration, compass orientation, light levels, temperature and voltage changes, Micro:bits are versatile handheld microcomputers that any STEAM learners will love. We’ll explore the features of Micro:bit and education resources available in the huge online community. We’ll use the Micro:bit browser-based coding platform and see how the browser simulator helps preview and debug code - please bring your tablet or laptop for this. You’ll see how using Micro:bit in a range of contexts can support computational thinking and designing and developing digital outcomes from the digital technology curriculum. A limited number of Micro:bits will be available to use on the day so you will need to bring your own Micro:bit and micro USB cable or pair up with a friend who has one.
