Name
Empathy Centered Design Thinking: The WHY of a makerspace
Date & Time
Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
G Bundy
Description
Teachers will get exposed to empathy centered design thinking utilizing a very simple exercise that works well in nearly every content area and age. Teachers will leave the workshop knowing how to run this activity in their own classes and makerspaces. Further, we will explore empathy centered design thinking as the “why” behind a makerspace, giving an instructional tool and language that is approachable to teachers of any experience level with making, or prototyping and designing. This technique works well with makerspaces that have low tech tools and objects, as well as high tech.
