Name
Narrative Writing and Coding
Date & Time
Saturday, March 24, 2018, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Description
Using the free CSFirst program from Google, you will learn how to guide your students in coding using Scratch to teach all the elements of narrative writing, such as dialogue, setting, strong characters, premise, conflict, and resolution. CS First walks students through activities in storytelling through the use of instructional videos and hands-on projects. The program comes with lesson plans, solution sheets, and passports for each student. You don't need to be experienced in coding to teach this program. We'll walk through the storytelling activities to give you time to practice. This is a engaging way to combine narrative writing and computer science for students ages 9-14.
