Tinashe is a former high school math teacher with over 12 years of experience in education and teacher training. Tinashe's work as a classroom teacher is documented on her blog at mrsblanchet.net. She is now a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer who travels around the United States to train hundreds of teachers on using technology to enhance their instruction. She is also a member of the leadership teams of the Louisiana Google Educator Group and EdCamp New Orleans. Tinashe has built a strong reputation as a skilled communicator and tech-savvy educator and has presented at local, state, national, and international education conferences. With a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Tinashe has also taught pre-service teachers at the University of New Orleans. In 2014, Tinashe founded The Learning Laboratory New Orleans, a non-profit organization committed to offering high-quality nontraditional programs for K-12 students at a reasonable cost for parents. The Learning Lab seeks to inspire and excite students in ways that they may never experience in a traditional school environment with hands-on activities, projects, technology explorations, field trips and travel. The Learning Lab also empowers passionate educators who want to improve their practice and stay abreast of the latest trends in education by offering free and low-cost professional development for K-12 teachers.
