Date & Time
Saturday, October 6, 2018, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Description
For students, there are only so many times they can use Google Docs, respond to a Flipgrid question, or try to breakout of a Google form before technology starts to become as routine and boring as a worksheet. So, the question arises: How can teachers create an innovative classroom when so many teachers are using the same tools? Ten different strategies, assignments, and/or lessons will be presented to give teachers an arsenal of ways they can use technology everybody is using in innovative ways. For each strategy, assignment handouts and sample products will be shown so that session participants can use them in their classrooms. Many of the tools you might know or you might have used in the past; however, the manner in which they are utilized in this session will be new to engage your students in new ways. Session participants will learn the following in this session: -New and fun ways to create digital breakout clues -Using Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides in new ways -Using Google Drawings in the classroom -Creating screencasts beyond the flipped model -Creating a culture of collaboration in the classroom All teachers are welcome! It does not matter if you are a middle or high school teacher; teachers of all content areas will find ideas in this session applicable to their classrooms.
