During this interactive workshop, participants will explore the science, creation, and impact of #BookSnaps. Participants will: 1) Explore how using Google Slides to create #BookSnaps improves reading comprehension 2.) Connect with students, using a language they love--Bitmojis and emojis, to create a digital visualization of their thinking 3) Discover the neuroscience behind #BookSnaps as it relates to long-term memory 4) Explore how students might use #BookSnaps to show their understanding within many content areas: #MathSnaps, #ScienceSnaps, #WritingSnaps, etc Let’s speak the students’ language using Google Slides to share excerpts of a book while annotating with #BookSnaps. This fascinating strategy engages both hemispheres of the brain and increases learning retention.
