Pilar Taylor is a mathematics instructor at North Broward Preparatory School. She began her professional career with her B.S. in Business as a marketing executive with international technology corporations and is in her 17th year of teaching. In her previous roles at local independent schools, she has served as an academic technology integrator, spreading her passion for brain-based learning through integration of technology in the classroom. Pilar holds a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and is currently working on her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Culture and Educational Inquiry. Her passion for "coaching" her students towards active and metacognitive learning is prevalent in her blended and flipped classrooms. She most recently presented at the Critical Questions in Education Symposium hosted by the Academy for Educational Studies and is an annual coach and facilitator at The University of Mississippi School of Business Administration's Speaker's Edge Program for MBA students.
