Creativity with Chromebooks: Recording and Editing Audio for Music, Podcasts, & More
Date & Time
Sunday, April 19, 2020, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Description
Not long ago it cost thousands of dollars to have your own recording studio... but in a span of a few short years, low cost software, free mobile apps, and full-featured browser-based tools have made a digital audio workstation (DAW) available to anyone! This session includes an overview of audio editing basics, and an introduction to a spectrum of apps that will run on student Chromebooks, including Android, Linux, and web-based alternatives. A hands-on activity with Soundtrap includes tips for recording, composing with loops, and downloading a finished project to share. Leave empowered to support students in writing their own music or publishing their own podcasts, or even just creating their own background audio for other projects. This is creativity with Chromebooks!
