Bruce teaches English at St Alban's College in Pretoria, South Africa, where his primary role is Academic Director: Innovation and Creativity. Passionate about innovation, he spends insomnia-filled night hours trying to understand how innovation and pedagogy intersect. He is also a freelance writer and speaker. Since 2013, he has served as one of four Action Research Team Advisors for the International Boys’ Schools Coalition’s Action Research Program, mentoring an international team of boys’ school teacher-researchers through an 18-month research cycle to understand and refine their teaching practice.
In between school commitments and speaking engagements, Bruch sneaks off campus once a week to work as a barista at Vintage Coffee, feeding an unquenchable passion for specialty coffee. He is also passionate about social media, technology, design and film, and is a compulsive beard grower.
