Description
Heard the buzz about coding, but wonder how it might look in your elementary classroom? In this hands-on playground session, we’ll explore a number of resources for setting foundations in coding in the elementary grades. We’ll discuss some possible progressions for building elementary coding lessons and activities that correlate with the math and literacy activities you are already doing in your classroom. Kids love coding, and watching them play will open your eyes to their perseverance, engagement, and collaboration skills. We'll explore code.org as a free place to begin your elementary coding adventures. Then, we’ll have lots of hands-on exploration with robots designed for young learners. Be prepared to play and learn with Dash, Sphero, BeeBot, and Ozobots!
