Franklinton High School is a public school for secondary education located near Franklinton, North Carolina, United States, about 4 miles southeast of the town. Franklinton High is located at 910 Cedar Creek Road, Franklinton, NC 27525. It is the largest high school in the Franklin County School district. The original Franklinton High was in the center of town and opened in 1923. The new location outside of town was built and opened for staff and students at the start of the 2011 school year. Currently, Franklinton High School is home to about 1100 students and over 100 teachers and staff members.
Franklinton High School sits on a country road in the northwest side of Franklin County, which borders Wake County where Raleigh, the capital of NC, is located. Franklin County is home to small towns; the closest of which are Franklinton (north east) and Youngsville (south west). Our Youngsville community has its very own family farm that offers field trips that include a train ride, gem mining, picnics, a petting zoo, and carnival activities. Wake Forest is the closest city, just a 15 minute ride southwest. Wake Forest has a beautiful downtown area with local shops, restaurants, and breweries. Falls Lake State Park has many outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, paddle boarding, and swimming. Just a short drive further southwest leads to Raleigh, the state capital, with museums, shopping malls, restaurants, and more.
