Level Up was created by the Instructional Technology Department at Floyd County Schools. It is based on challenges that teachers and administrators have to complete in order to earn points. These challenges are based off ISTE standards, TKES/LKES standards, and district expectations and goals. After a certain number of points are accrued, teachers and administrators earn specific incentives. This program has proven to be wildly successful with teachers. Feedback on Level Up has already shown tremendous gains in effective technology use in the classroom, teacher morale, and a friendly competitive spirit among teachers and schools. It has also increased the amount of time that instructional technologists spend coaching one on one with teachers in the classroom. This job embedded training is crucial for teachers to grow in their craft as technology advances at a rapid pace.
