Name
Assistive Technology Hack-a-thon
Date & Time
Saturday, April 6, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Description
In this 90 minute challenge you will be in a small working group to use a Design Thinking - Empathy Based framework and a variety of tech (at random!) in the Scratch ecosystem to create a prototype assitive tech device. While many students are able to create stunning projects using Scratch, this session combines Design Thinking with current trends on Ux (User Experience) in a Project-based Learning environment. A little experience with Scratch is helpful, but not necessary. This will be a true-to-life replica hack-a-thon, complete with a throw-down at the end, but there won't be any late night sleep-overs and all you can eat pizza!
