Description
Participants will explore the world of Augmented Reality (AR). AR is the integration of digital information with the user’s environment in real time. Unlike virtual reality, which creates a totally artificial environment, AR uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. In this workshop we will investigate AR’s relevance and significance in the context of K-12 experience. Additionally, in this session we will use of Google Maps as a collaboration tool that will be exported to a third party to include augmented reality viewing. Participants will gain hands-on experience by working together to build a custom map complete with images and annotation. Then we will take it to the next level by viewing our map through an augmented reality app.
