School teachers work harder than anyone else. They're underpaid and get no respect. Kids think school is boring or stressful and only 5% of high schoolers would describe school as "exciting." Our answer to this? More and more districts are running their schools like businesses where competition and high scores win out. However, there is hope! Your school, your classroom can bring humanity, love, happiness and excitement back to learning. It doesn't start with rigor, grit, scholars or even technology but with a little thing called empathy.
