Heather Matthews works in a 1:1 Digital Classroom which is bilingual, teaching 8-11 year old children. English is the first language of all of her students and these resources and ideas have been successful in developing second language skills. Outline: The focus of this presentation is on using digital resources to present a range of ideas and strategies to develop second language learning in the classroom. Using English as a first language these digital apps, resources and ideas can be adapted to work with any other language eg. Japanese, French, German, Spanish etc. Heather will begin the session showing you some of the digital tools she has successfully used in her bilingual classroom, after which you will be given time to try some of the tools yourself in a ‘hands on’ session. You will leave this presentation with a collection of ideas to expand and enrich your classroom programme.
