Speaker Bio
I have been committed to public for over 20 years as a Mathematics teacher and VET Information Technology teacher and I have been a head teacher of teaching and learning since 2006. For over 15 years I managed the ICT hardware and software infrastructure of a large school with over 800 computers.
From 2005, I initiated the use of online learning tools and live webconferencing lessons which has transformed the delivery of learning to distance education students. I delivered and coordinated targeted professional learning opportunities for teachers in the effective use of ICT and online learning pedagogy.
I was seconded with the Department of Education for 2 years as a subject matter expert for the LMBR program in use of learning management systems.
Acted in various Deputy Principal positions responsible for staffing, wellbeing, innovation and e-learning.
For the last year I have been employed by the department as a learning designer advisor to support the development of teaching resources and delivering quality professional learning. I currently lead a e-learning Community of Practice for learning designers across the department and I am constantly looking for efficient, effective and innovative ways to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the digital classroom.
