Description
I have embraced the STEAM and activity based maths working with primary aged students these activities are engaging and develop a broad range of skills across all curriculum areas. But I often wondered did all the students in my class actually know what they were doing or were they just following steps and procedures outlined? We will look at using digital tools to support the development of problem solving skills in maths and STEAM, using thoughts and ideas from Dr. Jo Boaler, Robert Kaplinsky and Alice Keeler. We will explore a range of tools available in Google Chrome to support student skills to analyze, contrast, explain, dissect… focusing more on demonstrating thinking rather than following steps. Participants attending will receive a premium subscription to EquatIO by Texthelp.
