Schools are more than ever seeking to harness the capabilities of technology to create personalised learning environments for all students. Join this fast-paced session to explore some of the technology options available to support ALL learners, including those struggling with the literacy and language requirements of school. Tools which give them the power to take charge of “personalising their own learning” to more effectively accommodate their preferred individual learning styles. Giving students agency or, put simply, “the power to act”. A range of Google extensions and apps are available to support these diverse literacy and learning needs - anywhere, anytime. Features such as text-to-speech, optical character recognition (OCR), comprehension support, vocabulary expansion and word prediction will be explored. Along with discussion of how these features specifically benefit learners struggling with reading, writing, and study skills. Everyone attending this session will be provided with free access to Texthelp’s literacy support tools, including Read&Write for Google Chrome, and will be given access to a comprehensive folder of additional literacy support resources.
