Speaker Bio
Juliette Bentley has been teaching since 1989. She is a published author with John Wiley and Pearson, and has run a successful writers’ club for over sixty student members who voluntarily gather for two hours after school each Friday. She piloted the Write The World platform and has enjoyed the wealth of opportunity it provides her young writers who are now published in two volumes of their international journal. She has presented in a number of professional development state and national conferences, and is an Adobe campus leader. Juliette advocates a practice of teachers as writers and creatives, using traditional and digital tools to leverage the affordances they provide in engagement, empathy and creative dialogue between colleagues and students. She has a great interest in mentoring teachers, helping them to build the skills that will allow them to enjoy their vocation, while building opportunities for students to become participatory members of both their own communities as well as the global one.
