Tanya Avrith is an Educator and Pedagogical Consultant; living in South Florida. Tanya consults with schools to help plan and execute large scale deployments and professional development plans for Digital Citizenship, iPad and Chromebook initiatives. She previously served as the Lead Educational Technology and Digital Citizenship Teacher at the Lester B. Pearson School Board in Montreal, Canada. While there she was instrumental in the vision and execution of the district wide Digital Citizenship Program (dcp.lbpsb.qc.ca) leading to her being invited to Facebook to discuss Digital Citizenship Education. She is a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Apple Distinguished Educator. She holds a M.A. in Educational Technology, a B.A. in Communication Studies and a B.ED. Tanya has worked as an Elementary, Middle School and High School Teacher. She speaks with educators, students, and parents addressing strategies for learning how to harness the power of social media to empower students to become digital citizens.
