Mountain View High School (MVHS) is one of two comprehensive high schools in the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District. MVHS serves a diverse student body of 1,835 students from the cities of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. Our student body is 48% Caucasian, 23% Asian, 22% Latino, 2% African American and 5% other. In the heart of the Silicon Valley, our neighbors include technology giants Google, Intuit, Microsoft and NASA-Ames. As a college-preparatory high school, MVHS responds to the community’s demand for rigor, relevance and excellence by offering open access to all 35 Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses across the curriculum. The school earned the distinction of California Distinguished High School in 1994 and 2003. In 2007 and 2013, MVHS received a full 6-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Newsweek ranks MVHS among the top 1% of high schools nationwide.

The area also offers a stunning eighteen-hole championship-level golf course with a full functioning clubhouse; Shoreline Amphitheater that holds up to 25,000 people for musical performances, private functions and corporate events; and Shoreline Lake for kayaking and sailing, as well as a lakeside café with a full service restaurant. Located at the entrance to the North Bayshore Business District on Shoreline Boulevard, is the Computer History Museum.

The Center for the Performing Arts offers year-round theatrical and musical performances by renowned artists, troupes and performers. Book lovers are welcome to explore the 70,000 square foot state of the art Mountain View Library, which houses a 3-D printer, a seed bank, and a historical room as well as classes and events for children, youth and adults. Both facilities are built around the Downtown's Pioneer Park and Civic Center.
