The UVa-Wise Abingdon office designs and delivers professional development programs for organizations in our region. Programs may be open enrollment or customized and may be of a technical or soft skill nature. UVa-Wise in Abingdon also coordinates events to promote economic development, bring greater exposure to the region and increase awareness of the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center and UVa-Wise.

Driving and Parking Information
The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center is conveniently located just off Exit 14 of I-81 in Abingdon, Virginia.
- Off I-81, follow Old Jonesboro Road and turn right onto the campus drive at the traffic light. Stay straight to crest over the hill; then look for the glass-fronted building with the brightly colored ""HirEd"" logo on your left.
The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center has free on-site parking with the following features:
- 22 handicap parking spaces
- 450 standard parking spaces
- Easy access from Exit 14 off I-81
- Easy flow pattern
- No parking space greater than 200 feet from building
- Semi-circle driveway for loading and unloading
- LED light poles
