This hands on session incorporates music and video to bring student expression to traditionally text and writing heavy classrooms. See how Apple Distinguished Educators are using the Everyone Can Create Curriculum and iPad to increase student engagement and achievement. Participants will work with variations of the Everyone Can Create Curriculum. “Defining Moments” is presented to express tone and mood in Language Arts and “Interpreting a Famous Quote” is presented to explore primary documents for Social Studies. Participants will explore iOS Apps Clips and GarageBand through these projects. Presenter will provide a crash course in Clips and a live demonstration of basic functions in GarageBand for iPad. Participants will leave with a knowledge on how to incorporate some lessons of the Everyone Can Create Curriculum in their classrooms. Please bring an up to date iPad with the most up to date version of Clips and GarageBand installed.
