Description
At presents, schools must recognize the role parents may play in the transforming homes into an extension of school. Current rapid change requires parents to become acquainted with the way different perspectives, information sources, and new technologies are shaping the future of their children if they do not want to live in a parallel universe. The need for parents to go back to school seems inevitable. Conversely, educational institutes should now commit to embracing parents in their learning curve, and should devise procedures through which they help parents experience an “upgrade”. The partnership that schools may create with parents amplifies the power of students’ learning journey, and symbolizes the ethical obligation every stakeholder possesses to stay a learner, and approach learning opportunities with an open mind. This educational workshop for parents has been crafted using the presenter’s experience as Head of Department, Program Coordinator, Teaching and Learning Director, but overall as a lifelong learner. Join Rafael in this practical and reflective exploration in helping parents become 21st Century Learners.
