Tools, Tips and Intentional Thinking to Build Community with Little Learners (K-3)

How can we build relationships, grow learning communities, and support the transition of little learners coming to us this year? Dear teacher, no more crying in front of your computer screen, WE ARE HERE! Come learn and explore ideas, resources and digital tools to help you think through setting up your learners for an epic year of learning (whether it be a distance model or IRL (In Real Life). We will dive into examples for both iPad apps (e.g., Pic Collage, Book Creator and Chatterpix) as well as  GSuite tools (Docs, Meet, Slides, Forms) and offer tips and trick on how to build and scaffold tech skills to empower learners K-3.

The Hybrid Teacher: Options for Online Assessment

We know the importance of building classroom culture and community at the start of the year. Most teachers have their tried-and-true icebreaker activities ready, but how does this translate online? And how can we ensure students are comfortable with the technology and the ability to communicate online? In this session we will look at activities, tools, and ideas for starting the year off right.

You already learned “how to use” Google Classroom. Now learn how you can leverage all its features for each part of lesson design. From a minds on to modelled and shared work to assessment and reflection, we will walk through and try it all out. Plus, we will share a variety of graphic organizers you can use for shared and independent work. This workshop is applicable to Hybrid, Virtual, and F2F classroom environments from Grades 4-12!
