WGHS is a large girls secondary school in Northland, NZ with some boarding. The students are years 9 - 13 and learn a wide range of subjects in a culturally inclusive environment. We have a 35% Maori roll.

We have embraced G Suite in 2017 and started the roll-out of our BYOD programme with Y9 students bringing their own devices. There is a large push towards 21st century learning skills in our classrooms.

Whangarei

Whangarei is New Zealand's northernmost city, and the capital of the Northland region. It is currently experiencing growth, with development happening around the city making it a more attractive tourist destination. There are beautiful, pristine beaches all around, as well as the deep port which services Marsden Point, the nations' only oil refinery.
It is overlooked by Mt Parihaka, with Mt Manaia out on the Whangarei Heads Rd.

The city motto is #loveithere and as any local will tell you, as you cross the top of the Brynderwyn Hills from Auckland, you know you are home.
