This workshop will look at how to use the video call feature inside Teams to start connecting with your students right away.

In this workshop you will learning how to set up a new Team and how to add your students to your digital classroom. You will learn how to create channels within your Team and best practices when using them. In addition, you will learn how to create content tabs in your Team to pin documents, have quick access to external apps and more.

Minecraft has planted itself in the hearts of our youth and now educators are using the game to provide dynamic learning experiences. With Subject Kits available for LA, Science, Math, SS and more, the classroom implementation possibilities are endless. Join us for this 1 hour beginner session where we will walk you through Minecraft for Education and placing your first blocks. Come learn how Minecraft for Education has the power and the ability to captivate and motivate your students to learn.

Minecraft Education Edition (MEE) has so many endless possibilities and there is so much to learn and do inside the world of Minecraft. Now that you have been able to move and play inside of the world you are probably wonder whats next? How do I make this useable for my students? How do I get this to be more then just a game? In this session we will be diving deeper into the MEE world. We will be looking at the various lessons that are on the website, exporting and importing worlds, talking about cameras, blackboards, portfolios and so much more. Come and enjoy this hands on virtual workshop as we build your capacity in MEE. Please have MEE downloaded on your computer and office 365 education login ready to use.

Coding continues to be an important Modern Learning skills. We often here that the world will need programers and coders as technology continues to envole but the question lies how do we teach our students these important skills. Minecraft EDU blends the both the world of construction with the skills and development of coding. Come and level up your Minecraft skills with MEE code agent. Participants will learn some coding fundalmentals as well as some fun lesson to engage with our students. Please note participants will need an MEE account (office 365 Education) and some working knowledge of Minecraft Education is helpful.

Mathematics is a beautiful language that can express the beauty of the world around us. Come learn how we can engage our students in this language by mathematizing our Minecraft worlds. In this session, participants will work with different blocks to build math concepts both for Elementary and High School. We will also investigate some pre-made lessons and dive deeper into exploring big ideas in Math through Minecraft. Please have Minecraft downloaded and your sign in ready as we will be playing and building in Minecraft itself. Minecraft works on PC, Macs and iPads. If new to Minecraft participating in our intro course may be beneficial.

Wouldn’t it be nice to teach just like you’re in your physical classroom even though you’re now teaching from home? Enter myViewBoard, a live collaborative workspace that brings the best of in person learning, even at a distance. Join us as we bring in experts to share advice and best practices for teaching in a virtual environment. Long-time educator in TDSB, now the Director of Innovative Learning at Keystone Academy in Beijing, Sandra Chow will join us on April 1st. Seven weeks into school closure, she'll share her never-ending positivity and give us strategies for moving into Virtual Teaching.
